Cybill Shepherd’s film, “Rose” to World Premiere at festival

FORT WORTH, Texas (October 10, 2017) – The Lone Star Film Festival (LSFF) in Sundance Square welcomes songwriter, vocalist, and visual artist Terry Allen as this year’s Stephen Bruton Award recipient.

Lloyd Maines will present the award to Allen at the LSFF Ball which takes place, Wednesday, November 8th at Bass Performance Hall.  Joe Ely will also be in attendance, as the three Texas music legends will close the evening with a special performance for attendees seated “on-stage” of the world-renowned hall.

The LSFF Ball will also honor Cybill Shepherd with the newly re-named Bill Paxton Achievement in Film Acting Award.  The night will include a tribute to Lone Star Film Festival founding member and Fort Worth native, Bill Paxton.

Additional festival highlights:

  • World Premiere of “Rose” with special guest Cybill Shepherd – This special presentation will take place on Thursday, November 9th at 8 pm at Four Day Weekend.
    “Rose” is a story of a widowed ex-cop who discovers that she may have a life-threatening illness and decides to go on a solo road trip to explore the beauty of the Southwest.  The film stars Cybill Shepherd.  In addition to Shepherd, director Rod McCall, producers Greg Clonts and Eric A. Williams will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening.  Individual tickets can be purchased at-the-door for $10. LSFF All-Access Badge holders will have priority access to this screening.
  • Two feature films directed by Bill Paxton added to the schedule – “Frailty” will screen on Friday, November 10th at 8:30 pm at Four Day Weekend and “The Greatest Game Ever Played” will screen on Sunday, November 12th at 3:00 pm at AMC Palace 9.

WHAT:            The 11th annual Lone Star Film Festival in Sundance Square opens this November with film screenings, film competition, panel discussions, guest speakers, and parties.

WHERE:          All Screenings will be held in Sundance Square at the AMC Palace Theater and Four Day Weekend Theater. Additional activities will be held at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel and Sundance Plaza Pavilion.

COST:              LSFF Ball Table options vary. Individual seats start at $600 All-Access Badges ($300) are available online at a 15% discount. Individual screening tickets will be available at the door only ($10).
